About Dr. Mohammad Razuanul Hoque

Dr. Mohammad Razuanul Hoque is a Professor of Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Chittagong. Dr. Razuanul completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (with thesis) from the same department and secured first class (first position) in both examinations. He completed his PhD in Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, Department of Developmental Biology and Neurosciences, Tohoku University Graduate School of Life Sciences, Sendai, Japan. He worked on “the optogenetic manipulation of neural activity using sodium-transporting rhodopsins” under supervision of Professor Hiromu Yawo who is one of the pioneer scientists in the field of optogenetics. He did his PhD research with collaboration of Professor Hideki Kandori of Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan.
